About the role

As a Parts Counterperson at Nutley Kia, part of the Generation Auto Group, you play a vital role in supporting our service operations by assisting technicians and customers with locating the correct parts for vehicle repairs and maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Order, receive, and distribute parts for service department technicians and retail counter customers
  • Provide accurate information regarding parts availability, pricing, and vehicle compatibility
  • Process parts orders efficiently and accurately
  • Work closely with the service department to support timely repairs
  • Process manufacturer returns and core returns as required
  • Organize, stock, and maintain parts inventory to ensure accuracy and accessibility
  • Maintain proper inventory levels, labeling, and organization
  • Collaborate with team members to fulfill internal and external customer needs
  • Aid customers with purchases, inquiries, and concerns in a professional and courteous manner
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient parts department workspace

Requirements

  • Punctual, dependable, and reliable
  • Flexible with scheduling, including availability to work Saturdays
  • Attentive, welcoming, and service-oriented
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Spanish-speaking skills a plus
  • Knowledge of automotive systems and repair procedures preferred
  • Comfortable using computer software and dealership management systems
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Customer-focused mindset with the ability to build trust and rapport
  • Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to evolving technology and industry standards

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in a similar role preferred
  • Knowledge of automotive systems and repair procedures preferred
