Automotive Parts Counterperson

Responsibilities

• Oversight of the parts sales process from start to finish
• Communication with staff and customers in a friendly and professional manner
• Effective and efficient conversation regarding customer parts status
• Reading and understanding the parts catalog when looking up and speaking to specific parts
• Providing price quotes and other information to customers
• Verifying the parts ordered are correct and all pricing is in line with the estimate
• Providing high level service to both internal and external customers
• Pulling/filling orders from stock and maintaining weekly bin checks to ensure accuracy of stock
• Notifying manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials that need immediate attention
• Locating out-of-stock parts from outside source and submitting an emergency order, if necessary

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or equivalent
• Prior auto parts sales experience (2+ years experience) preferred but not required
• Strong interpersonal and time management skills
• Ability to calculate figures/amounts including; discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, %, area, circumference, and volume
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
