About the role
The Automotive Painter positions at Kenworth Truck Company are responsible for preparing various truck components for the paint application process. This involves sanding, removing oils, debris, or imperfections, and taping off product and/or components where paint should not be applied. Paint is then applied using manual spray techniques, robotic paint technology, or through an electro-static booth on a moving assembly line.
Responsibilities
- Prepare product for the paint application process by sanding, removing oils, debris, or imperfections, and taping off product and/or components where paint should not be applied.
- Apply Paint to various Truck components using manual spray techniques, spray painting in an electro-static booth on a moving assembly line, using robotic paint technology.
- Correct defects on finished product and learn to identify imperfections in the paint application process to avoid future defects.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have a High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Must be able to speak and understand the English Language.
- Prior automotive painting experience preferred.
- Must be able to meet physical requirements with or without accommodation, including lifting, carrying, pushing 50 pounds or more, standing and walking for 8 hours per day, working in awkward positions such as bending, squatting, working from ladders 12 feet high, using vibratory tools, etc.
- Must be able to wear a respirator.
- Work around smoke, dusts, fiberglass while wearing proper protective equipment.
