Responsibilities
- Mechanically inclined individuals with a passion for working on and testing engines, components, and related equipment.
- Operate and perform daily work in a safe manner.
- Control and troubleshoot problems related to the automotive and mechanical test laboratory equipment and test stands.
- Perform mechanical and maintenance functions on test stands and associated equipment.
- Communicate testing related issues to the appropriate engineer, facilitator, or support group.
- Stay current on lab utilities that support your test area.
- Maintain housekeeping in test cells/areas and common spaces.
- Be an active participant in completing shift rounds.
- Complete training needed to develop technical and interpersonal skills.
- Cross train in other areas of Mechanical Testing for personal growth and support of future testing needs.
- Support all Lubrizol and department initiatives around Safety, Environmental, ISO, ERT and career development.
- Prioritize work for overall effectiveness of shift and to meet business needs.
- Identify and communicate the need for emergency maintenance coverage.
- Procure test parts and support equipment and ensure they are charged to the proper accounts.
- Recommend new test support equipment as needed.
- Always maintain high ethical standards.
- Demonstrate good initiative, communication skills, and self-motivation.
- Demonstrate the Lubrizol Purpose, Strategy, and Values in everyday work.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Experience through work or education performing automotive and/or mechanical equipment testing, including vocational training, hobbies, or military exposure.
- Demonstrate mechanical acumen and familiarity with standard engine / driveline nomenclature.
- Able to use hand tools and specialized measurement equipment such as torque wrenches and micrometers.
- Good basic math skills.
- Competence in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
- Able to document testing data and issues clearly.
- Able to wear appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) to fulfill safety requirements.
- Clock vacation to ensure the best coverage for Mechanical Testing.
- Able to lift 5-50 lbs. and assisted moves of drums weighing 50-800 lbs.
- Able to stand for long periods of time.
- Work in an environment that is not climate controlled.

Schedule
Multiple Openings
Shifts:
1st shift (7:50am – 3:50pm)
- Monday – Friday and every 3rd weekend
- Overtime based on workload needs but not guaranteed.
2nd shift (2:30pm – 12:30am)
- Tuesday – Friday and every 3rd weekend.
- Overtime based on workload needs but not guaranteed.
3rd shift (12am – 10am)
- Tuesday – Friday and every 3rd weekend.
- Overtime based on workload needs but not guaranteed.
