As the Automotive Ground Service Mechanic, you will be a vital part of the operation as you maintain SkyWest ground equipment and support ramp personnel to promote safety and on-time arrivals/departures. Efficiently and thoroughly troubleshoot and repair various equipment, including tugs, belt loaders, pickups, deicing equipment, pushback tugs, bag carts, electric vehicles, etc. Travel to different SkyWest ground-handled cities to repair various equipmentPrep and paint equipmentComplete ramp checks as neededHelp train apprentices when neededPerform other tasks as assigned Minimum Requirements As the ideal candidate, you will exemplify all of SkyWest's Guiding Principles, most importantly Health and Safety First, Excellent Service and Quality, Personal and Operational Reliability, and Respect and Teamwork. Tool allowances are available to assist in obtaining and maintaining this set. Standard sockets: ¼”, 3/8”, and ½” drive with ratchets and extensions must range from ¼” to 1 1/4” deep and shallowMetric sockets: must range from 8mm - 19 mm deep and shallowStandard wrenches: standard ¼” to 1 ¼”Metric wrenches: 8mm -19 mmAllen wrenches: standard and metricScrewdrivers: Phillips, flathead, and TorxPliers: standard and needle-nose pliers, and channel-locksImpact gun and sockets: pneumatic 1/2” and 3/8”Pry bars (variety of lengths)Automotive meter (fluke) with hertz capabilityWire cutters, wire strippers, and wire crimpersHammerToolbox and travel case Preferred Skills: ASE Certifications in brakes, steering and suspension, electrical, and diesel enginesBasic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and WordAutomotive schooling Physical And Other Requirements Paid travel as needed, including multiple day-trips and overnights stays (flying and driving)Ability to lift 50+ pounds with or without a reasonable accommodation18 years of age or olderThis is a full-time positionStarting at $23.50-26.50 per hour based on experience$75 Monthly tool allowance.
