About the role

The Automotive Mechanic Senior will modify cars and trucks in a prototype environment, performing a wide range of diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance. The Automotive Mechanic Senior mentors and oversees team member’s technical deliverables to ensure Roush and customer standards are met.

Responsibilities

- Maintain vehicle functional condition by working off repair orders or leader instructions and conducting inspections - Repair mechanical and electrical system malfunctions and replace parts and components - Read, interpret, and follow service procedures - Train, coach, and mentor team members related to their job responsibilities and is available as a subject matter expert to assist the team and customer - Maintain vehicle records by entering notes, service, and repair orders - Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, calling for repairs - Assist with daily shop organization and clean-up

Requirements

- High school diploma or equivalent - US citizen - Minimum of 8 years of work experience as a mechanic - Excellent knowledge of mechanical assembly and ability to operate shop equipment - Good attention to detail and organizational skills - Ability to work independently and as part of a team and able to mentor and train others - Own tools with rolling toolbox and able to work overtime and weekends - Ability to read, comprehend and execute written procedures - Valid driver’s license - Ability to travel up to 30 percent - Ability to lift up to 100 pounds

Qualifications

A successful candidate may also have: - Certificate in Automotive Technology or related - State Mechanic Certification(s) - Knowledge of vehicle alignments, air conditioning (A/C) system repairs, tire machines and balancers
