Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Installing all equipment necessary to modify brand-new vehicles into police and emergency vehicles. This includes routing and installing wire harnesses, controllers, partitions, auxiliary batteries, light bars, push bumpers, power supplies, component trays, and consoles.
- Disassembling and reassembling factory vehicles
- Expected to read drawings, including electrical schematics with limited help.
- Must be comfortable working in an industrial environment that may require heavy physical duties. Work will involve frequent standing, bending, twisting, stooping and kneeling.
- Fieldwork may be required at times as well as varying work hours.
- Some overtime may be required.
- Work independently, maintain accurate records, find efficiencies while respecting quality, and contribute ideas to the company.
- Supply own basic set of tools commonly used in the performance of automotive repair work. Time will be given to new employees to purchase these items after hire if required.
- Maintaining shop and work bay cleanliness
- Perform other tasks as assigned by leadership.
Requirements
- Experience working with automotive electrical systems;
- Experience working with automotive mechanical systems;
- Valid driver’s license;
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds;
- Constructive team player
- Positive attitude;
- Detail-oriented and focused on quality workmanship;
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Higher consideration will be given to candidates with relevant training, experience and/or Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT) certification.
