Automotive General Service Technician
About the role
Plaza Tire Service is on the hunt for a General Service Technician who's ready to roll up their sleeves and get under the hood. We're an industry leader with 75 locations across Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, and Northern Arkansas, and part of Sun Auto Tire & Service, a leading provider of automotive services.
Responsibilities
- Tire mounting, dismounting, balancing & rotation
- Oil changes and other light vehicle maintenance
- Multi-point inspections & documenting vehicle conditions
- Keeping the shop clean, organized, and safe
- Driving vehicles safely and courteously
- Pick up parts and supplies
- Transporting customers
- Following all safety procedures and reporting concerns
- Supporting team members with other assigned tasks
- Adhering to Sun Auto’s core values and company policies
Qualifications
- A strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Some knowledge of basic automotive systems (preferred)
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Flexibility to work Saturdays (with Sundays off!)

Pay
$14–$16 per hour, depending on your experience and skill set.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands
- Exposure to moderate to loud noises, dust, exhaust fumes, lubricants, petroleum products, vapors, caustic materials, and other hazardous and non-hazardous materials
- The temperature in the work environment varies and could include extreme heat and/or extreme cold depending on the ambient temperatures outside
- Must be able to stand up to eight hours per day in the shop and walk to gain access to various areas of the building
- Bend, stoop, kneel and crouch regularly throughout the day; must have full range of motion with arms and hands and be able to feel, handle or finger objects frequently
- Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly, lift and/or move up to 70 pounds frequently
- Communicate with customers and shop personnel
- Vision sufficient to detect color, depth, and re-focus
Previous Experience
Previous automotive experience preferred, but we will consider energetic and hard-working individuals with a passion for cars.
