Job Description

This role is responsible for overseeing and maintaining a safe, reliable, and cost-efficient fleet of vehicles, including ground support equipment and on-road vehicles. The position ensures the proper use, care, and stewardship of all physical assets, proactively mitigating equipment failures, controlling operating costs, and optimizing fleet performance.

Responsibilities

  • Schedules preventative maintenance inspections and reviews the results
  • Maintains and oversees the correction of problems with tools, machinery, and other standard technical equipment
  • Manages external vendor relationships
  • Collaborates closely with automotive mechanics and internal stakeholders
  • Conducts routine equipment and facility audits
  • Ensures compliance with preventive maintenance standards
  • Monitors fleet maintenance activities
  • Analyzes cost drivers and performance trends
  • Tracks key expense indicators
  • Develops and implements cost-reduction initiatives

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years in automotive fleet operations and 5+ years of progressive supervisory/management experience required
  • Must be flexible to work Monday-Friday
  • Must be flexible to work 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift
  • Must reside within the geographical area of the job - relocation not offered

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of mechanical fundamentals, maintenance, diagnosis, and repair to vehicle or aircraft fleet operation
  • Ability to manage equipment repair and oversee the correction of problems with tools, machinery, and other standard technical equipment
  • Ability to manage inspections, physical assets, and working relationships with vendors
