Job Description
This role is responsible for overseeing and maintaining a safe, reliable, and cost-efficient fleet of vehicles, including ground support equipment and on-road vehicles. The position ensures the proper use, care, and stewardship of all physical assets, proactively mitigating equipment failures, controlling operating costs, and optimizing fleet performance.
Responsibilities
- Schedules preventative maintenance inspections and reviews the results
- Maintains and oversees the correction of problems with tools, machinery, and other standard technical equipment
- Manages external vendor relationships
- Collaborates closely with automotive mechanics and internal stakeholders
- Conducts routine equipment and facility audits
- Ensures compliance with preventive maintenance standards
- Monitors fleet maintenance activities
- Analyzes cost drivers and performance trends
- Tracks key expense indicators
- Develops and implements cost-reduction initiatives

Requirements
- Minimum 3 years in automotive fleet operations and 5+ years of progressive supervisory/management experience required
- Must be flexible to work Monday-Friday
- Must be flexible to work 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift
- Must reside within the geographical area of the job - relocation not offered
Qualifications
- Knowledge of mechanical fundamentals, maintenance, diagnosis, and repair to vehicle or aircraft fleet operation
- Ability to manage equipment repair and oversee the correction of problems with tools, machinery, and other standard technical equipment
- Ability to manage inspections, physical assets, and working relationships with vendors
