About the Role

Homer Skelton Ford is looking for motivated and dependable Express Technicians to join our growing Service Department. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with vehicles, takes pride in quality work, and wants to build a career in the automotive industry.

The Express Technician performs routine maintenance and light mechanical services while providing a positive experience for our customers. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced dealership environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform oil and filter changes.
  • Perform tire rotations and tire inspections.
  • Inspect and replace air filters, cabin filters, wiper blades, and other maintenance items.
  • Perform battery testing and replacement.
  • Perform fluid checks and top-offs.
  • Inspect brakes, tires, belts, hoses, lights, and other vehicle components.
  • Perform basic vehicle inspections and identify potential maintenance or repair needs.
  • Follow manufacturer and dealership service procedures.
  • Properly document work performed and communicate findings to the Service Advisor.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Properly use and maintain tools and equipment.
  • Follow all safety procedures and dealership policies.
  • Assist other technicians and service personnel when needed.
  • Complete assigned work accurately and within expected time guidelines.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude.
  • Provide excellent customer service by ensuring every vehicle receives quality care.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Previous automotive experience preferred but not required.
  • Automotive technical school or related training is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of automotive systems and maintenance.
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, lifts, and shop equipment.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn and develop automotive skills.
