Transdev in Atlantic City, NJ is seeking both an Automotive and Diesel Technician to bolster our team. This is a full-time, union position subject to a Collective Bargaining Agreement.
About the role
As a Technician, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity for our fleet of vehicles. You will perform repairs, assist senior mechanics, execute routine maintenance, and lead diagnostic tests to identify and resolve complex issues.
Schedule
Monday - Friday, full-time (40 hours per week).
Pay
$28.00 - $45.00 per hour (Union Collective Bargaining Agreement payscale).

Responsibilities
- Perform repairs and replacements on automotive engines, ensuring optimal functionality
- Assist A-Level and B-Level Mechanics in advanced diagnostic and repair tasks, contributing to efficient workflow
- Execute routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and optimize diesel engine performance
- Lead diagnostic tests to accurately identify complex issues and determine comprehensive repair strategies for diesel engines
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair tasks on engines, including overhauling and rebuilding components to required specifications
- Other duties as required
Requirements
- Experience with Dodge, Chevy, and Ford vehicles preferred
- ASE certifications preferred
- Personal mechanic’s tool set
- Subject to DOT drug testing and physical, if applicable (DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 prohibits the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason)
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship now or in the future
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen
Physical Requirements
The essential functions of this position require the ability to:
- Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions (100% of the job is performed outside)
- Work alone and in remote locations
- Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day)
- Frequently walk for long distances on sloped, slippery, or uneven surfaces
- Push and pull objects occasionally throughout the workday
- Lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance
- Occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to access files or equipment stored at ground level
- Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing duties
- Tolerate exposure to dust, vehicle fumes, and noise
