Automotive Diesel Technician

About the role

Apple Autos is seeking a highly-driven Diesel Technician to join our team. Our dealership has been rated a Top Minnesota Workplace in the Star Tribune for the last 5 years, and we're looking to add a passionate problem-solver to our winning team.

Responsibilities

• Perform work specified on maintenance and repair orders with efficiency and in accordance with dealership standards.
• Work independently and as a team to drive maximum repair efficiency.
• Consistently and concisely detail and document repairs.
• Inspect and maintain shop equipment.
• Diagnose and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, braking, air conditioning, etc. to specification.
• Explain mechanical diagnoses and required repairs in a non-technical manner to service advisors and customers.
• Inspect and test new vehicles and recording findings so that necessary repairs can be made.
• Continue ongoing training to stay abreast of the new technology and techniques on the vehicle model lines.

Requirements

• Previous diesel experience as an automotive technician preferred but not required.
• Hold a valid driver’s license.
• Team oriented, flexible, high energy and focused on maintaining a high level of customer service.
• Working knowledge of shop equipment such as wheel and tire equipment, alignment system, diagnostic equipment, AC equipment, etc.
• Vocational/Technical or certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license.

Skills

• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
