About the Role

The Body Craftsman/Craftswoman role is an integral part of the Sonderwunsch Factory business unit at Porsche Cars North America, conducting restoration, preservation, personalization, and repair services consistent with Porsche factory standards. This is a long-term contract position (12 months with possible renewal) located in Atlanta, GA, managed by Corestaff, the official MSP resourcing partner for Porsche Cars North America.

Responsibilities

  • Recommend and perform vehicle body services on all exterior vehicle components to Porsche factory standards.
  • Assist in vehicle and component painting operations.
  • Support body shop and paint booth operations, including material management and scheduling.
  • Review repair orders, maintain production status databases, and discuss work with supervisors.
  • Interact with vehicle-owning customers and explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals.
  • Find parts and materials, synchronize workflow, and coordinate vehicle cycle.
  • Create and support cost estimates for repairs, including labor time and materials.
  • Plan work procedures using charts and technical manuals, and check the quality parameters and completeness of the work carried out.
  • Examine vehicles and frameworks for defects, make repairs as needed prior to paint application and other finish work.
  • Follow checklists to ensure all important parts are examined.
  • Monitor and work closely with the Classic Team to achieve Porsche Classic and Factory Restoration qualitative and quantitative targets (KPIs).
  • Perform care and cleaning work according to the plan or as needed for parts, vehicles, or workspace.
  • Correct deficiencies and perform final inspections of vehicles or assemblies; implement safety procedures.
  • Direct, teach, and guide the work of junior or in-training technicians.
  • Maintain necessary training to meet Porsche Classic Standards.
  • Manage and report on project execution, problem-solve with supervisors to improve workshop efficiency.
  • Perform 5S in the body shop and support throughout the full facility.

Qualifications

  • Automotive technical degree preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Required Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in vehicle body repair and restoration services, full body, and components.
  • Bodywork experience on various substrate materials such as aluminum and steel, and in connection to carbon fiber and carbon Kevlar.
  • 5 years of experience in concours-level vehicle maintenance, repair, and manufacturing.
  • 5 years of experience in vehicle bodywork of classic Porsche vehicles.
  • 5 years of experience in vehicle bodywork of modern Porsche vehicles.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects.
  • Fluency in English (oral/written).
  • Highly organized, target-oriented mindset, works well without close supervision.
  • Ability to set and meet challenging deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • High possession of Porsche passion.
  • German language a plus.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Classic range of Porsche Vehicles.
  • Excellent knowledge of Porsche interior parts.
  • Proficient in computer skills.
  • Experience with Porsche PET2 system desired.
  • Experience with CDK software desired.
  • Valid Driver's license.
  • Clean Driving Record.
  • Ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle.

Pay

$28.00 - $33.00 / hr
