Automotive Body Shop Technician

ABRA Body Shop is a certified shop for Ford, Subaru, and Tesla, located at Asheville Ford. We are a large, locally owned and operated facility that includes a Quicklane, Service, Sales Department, and Body Shop. We partner with many local charities and community organizations.

About the role

We are looking for a full-time Body Shop Technician to join our team. This position offers a $25,000 employment bonus, a 4-day work week, and a flat rate of $25/hour with the potential to earn over $100,000 annually.

Responsibilities

• Identify and resolve parts required for repair; review repair orders, work orders, and Body Shop Manager’s estimate notes; follow warranty guidelines; notify supervisor of any repair add-ons.
• Adjust, replace, and repair all series of vehicles (e.g., sheet metal repairs, fiberglass/panel repairs, fabrication and structural welding, installation and alignment of body components, electrical and mechanical repairs, etc.).
• Road test vehicles when necessary to ensure quality repair.
• Maintain current knowledge of job and technical skills, including truck manufacturer’s repair processes.
• Perform work as outlined on repair estimates with efficiency and accuracy in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
• Teardown and inspect for additional or hidden repairs.
• Advise body shop estimator of additional damage or supplemental needs or if repairs will not be completed on time.
• Lead work of any apprentice technicians and maintain ASE certifications.

Requirements

• Welding, suspension, or framework experience (a plus) or willingness to learn/train.
• ASE Certifications in Damage Analysis and Estimating, Mechanical and Electrical Components, Non-Structural Analysis and Damage Repair, and State Vehicle Inspector (preferred).
• Certifications listed above or equivalent experience and eagerness to improve.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Pay

$25/hour flat rate with the potential to earn over $100,000 annually, plus a $25,000 employment bonus.

Schedule
