Automotive Body Shop Technician

Graff Chevrolet Durand is a top-performing, nationally recognized dealership eager to stay on top. We are looking for a professional with a reputation for quality work to join our body shop. Strong restorative and repair skills as well as the ability to achieve results are needed, along with the ability to perform with a team. A valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record is required.

Responsibilities

• Restore vehicles to their pre-accident condition in accordance with standard specifications to ensure customer and company satisfaction
• Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy
• Communicate with the body shop office to obtain needed parts
• Examine vehicles to determine if additional safety or service work is required
• Perform all body repairs according to estimate
• Perform welding, soldering, body alignment, and oxidizing operations
• Assess and analyze damaged areas to prepare for painting
• Establish a finished product that adheres to factory and dealership procedures when performing warranty work
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area
• Operate all equipment in the Collision Center in a safe manner
• Document all work performed as soon as the job is completed
• Use basic mathematical skills to solve simple equations for mixing chemicals
• Understand and follow federal, state, and local regulations such as the disposal of hazardous wastes

Requirements

• State certified as a collision technician
• Prior body shop repair or training and I-CAR preferred
