Automation Training & Standards Engineer

What You Will Do

• Develop written and computer-based training on various aspects of industrial control systems, including PLC and SCADA systems.
• Evaluate new technologies and other tasks to support project delivery teams in providing high-quality professional services to customers.
• Work with the training department to develop and execute training for Automation Specialists and other technical employees.
• Develop BOMs, IO lists, and requirements for control panels.
• Develop PLC programs in Ladder, Function Block, and other languages.
• Develop Human Machine Interface (HMI) hardware and software test plans and write simulation logic for testing PLC and HMI systems.
• Test new products and technologies.
• Develop and evolve company standards for design and programming.
• Work with manufacturers and vendors to make training available to employees.
• Work with others to address design issues as necessary.
• Help project delivery teams troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair issues as necessary.

What You Will Bring

• At least 5 years of industrial automation experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field from a Technical College.
• Experience with modern Logix-based control systems from Rockwell Automation, Schneider Electric, and Siemens.
• Experience with modern SCADA systems such as Ignition, AVEVA, Wonderware, VTScada, and FactoryTalk View.
• An eagerness to learn about a variety of SCADA platforms.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

Physical requirements and work environment expectations vary by position.
