About the role
We're seeking a Mobile Automation Engineer (Android) who thrives on solving complex quality challenges and building automation solutions from the ground up. This is an opportunity to work on high-visibility mobile applications used at scale while partnering closely with engineering teams to drive quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain mobile automation frameworks for Android applications
- Create automated UI, functional, regression, integration, and performance tests
- Create scalable test solutions using Appium and open-source automation tools
- Write and maintain automation code using Java
- Partner with Product, Engineering, and QA teams to improve release quality
- Participate in code reviews and automation standards discussions
- Maintain and enhance automated regression suites as applications evolve
- Support automated testing within CI/CD pipelines
- Troubleshoot application and automation issues to identify root causes
- Help define testing strategies for new mobile features and products
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of experience in software test automation or SDET environments
- 5+ years of Android experience using Java and/or Kotlin
- Strong hands-on Java development experience
- Mobile automation experience using Appium (required)
- Experience designing and building automation frameworks from scratch
- Experience writing automated UI and functional tests
- Experience with Selenium and TestNG
- Experience with Shell Scripting
- Experience working with source control and CI/CD tools such as: Jenkins, Git, Bitbucket, Perforce
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Espresso experience
- XCUITest experience
- CI/CD automation implementation experience
- Unit testing experience
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Experience supporting enterprise-scale mobile applications

Benefits
Compensation & Benefits Disclosure (California): In accordance with California pay transparency requirements, the expected pay rate for this position is: $71.00/hour. Actual compensation may vary based on factors including experience, skills, education, and overall qualifications. Benefits eligibility, where applicable, will be discussed during the interview process.
