Automation Technician - Nights - $1,000 Sign-On Bonus

About the role

Join us as we grow! Our new Randolph, MN location is set to open its doors in early May 2026, and we are beginning the hiring process now. We will be reviewing applications and interviewing on a rolling basis, allowing us to adjust start dates to fit your schedule and business needs. To get you started on the right foot, this position may include in-person training period at our Le Sueur, MN facility. We are excited to offer a $1,000 sign-on bonus for this position, distributed based on your continued success with the team.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and program programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and human-machine interfaces (HMIs).
  • Maintain and troubleshoot automated systems, including conveyors, mills, and other processing equipment.
  • Calibrate and maintain sensors, actuators, and other control devices.
  • Develop and update automation system documentation, including electrical schematics, control diagrams, and operating procedures.
  • Work with electrical systems, variable frequency drives, and instrumentation.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to optimize system performance and resolve issues.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on automated systems and equipment.
  • Identify and implement improvements to enhance automation system reliability and efficiency.
  • Ensure that all automation activities comply with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Aid in the development and implementation of new automation projects.
  • Provide technical support and training to operations personnel on automation systems.
  • Work with Maintenance technicians to ensure equipment is available to operations.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Associate’s degree in electrical engineering, automation technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in industrial automation, preferably in a mining, processing, or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and human-machine interfaces (HMIs).
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, control diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing automated systems and equipment.
  • Strong understanding of industrial sensors, actuators, and control devices.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices related to automation systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic computer proficiency for programming and documentation.
  • Ability to acquire and retain all necessary safety certifications.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education: Associate’s degree in electrical engineering, automation technology, or related field preferred.
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in industrial automation.
  • Systems: CMMS

Pay

Cambria’s starting hourly range for this position is $27.00- $40.00. Hourly ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the target for new hires for the position. Individual pay is determined by several factors, including work location, job-related experience, and relevant education and/or training.

Schedule

This position may be eligible for a 15% shift differential which would be applied to the base hourly rate for all hours worked during designated overnight shift periods.

Physical Requirements

  • Work at varying heights, including on the rooftop of the buildings.
  • Lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Push/pull 100 lbs.
  • Stand on feet for long periods of time during a shift for up to 12 hours, with intermittent breaks.
  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided by Cambria.
  • Participate in daily stretch and flex exercises.
  • Work in an outdoor environment in all weather conditions.
  • Walk up and down steps multiple times throughout shift.
  • Bend over multiple times throughout shift.
