Automation Technician

Responsibilities
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of all automation equipment during production as well as performing scheduled preventative maintenance of the same.
- Absorb and assist with installation, set up and validation of incoming automation equipment.
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test, and adjust.
- Able to comprehend OEM manuals, wiring diagrams, schematics, and mechanical drawings.
- Interface with automation engineering to implement process improvements.
- Assists shift lead in maintaining quality of finished product through proper machine operation.
- Maintain a neat and orderly work environment in accordance with West 5S program.
- Support and contribute to Lean Sigma programs and activities towards delivery of the set target.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 1 year of vocational school with an emphasis in pneumatics/hydraulics, electrical, mechanical studies preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience related to plant automation.
Qualifications
- Able to comply with the company’s safety policy at all times.
- Able to comply with the company’s quality policy at all times.
- Able to be aware of all relevant standard operating procedures as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description.
- Ability to operate a Powered Industrial Truck.
Skills
- Able to comprehend OEM manuals, wiring diagrams, schematics, and mechanical drawings.
- Interface with automation engineering to implement process improvements.

Pay
Compensation is commensurate with experience.
Schedule
This position is a 12 hour day shift 2-2-3-2 5:30 AM - 6:00 PM.
