Role Overview
The Automation Technician will repair and maintain computer-controlled systems and robotic devices within the warehouse to enhance efficiency. This role works within the Automation Team and supports TVH's daily operations.
Responsibilities
- Experience troubleshooting and modifying Siemens PLC (TIA portal), HMI (TIA Portal), and Drives (TIA Portal).
- Networking experience/Profinet.
- Experience troubleshooting hardwired systems and print reading (US and European style prints).
- Provide expertise to advance automated systems.
- Support day-to-day operations and emergency troubleshooting.
- Preventative maintenance on material handling and automated equipment.
- Adhere to company policies and health and safety standards.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues and leadership.
- Provide status updates and support operations staff.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in commissioning or maintaining industrial automation systems.
- Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in Electrical / Controls / Automation / Robotics / Instrumentation Engineering/Technology.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Basic computer skills (Google Workspace).
- Strong command of English Language both written and verbal.
- Proficient in Siemens Simatic S7 (TIA, Drives, Profinet, Profisafe).
- Working knowledge of Allen Bradley tools (Rs Logix 5/500/5000, Factory Talk View).
- Working knowledge in troubleshooting industrial networks.
- Working knowledge in drives (VFD/Servo) issues.
- Working knowledge in troubleshooting electrical circuits (24VDC to 480VAC).
- Working knowledge in troubleshooting controls issues.
