Responsibilities
- Support communication networks connecting field locations, automation systems, and operational platforms
- Troubleshoot connectivity issues involving radios, switches, routers, and field communication equipment
- Affiliate with configuration and maintenance of industrial networking hardware
- Maintain monitoring of system health and respond to network or automation alerts
- Support SCADA, PLC, and automation systems connectivity
- Affiliate with system upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure improvements
- Maintain documentation of network diagrams, configurations, and troubleshooting steps
- Support cybersecurity practices related to operational technology environments
- Cook up coordination with engineering and operations teams to maintain reliable field communications
Requirements
- Understanding of networking fundamentals (IP addressing, routing, switching, wireless communication)
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols and systems
- Ability to diagnose and resolve network and automation issues
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability
- Good communication skills and ability to work across technical and operational teams
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Qualifications
- Experience in oil and gas operations, automation, SCADA, or industrial networking preferred
- Background in network support, automation technician work, or communications infrastructure
- Familiarity with PLC systems, SCADA platforms, or field telemetry is a plus
- Experience supporting routers, switches, wireless radios, or industrial networks preferred
- Technical certifications, relevant training, or equivalent hands-on experience beneficial
- Ability to work independently and support operational teams when issues arise
