Automation Technician

About the role

The Automation Technician position at Kronospan is responsible for assisting in all aspects of electrical maintenance, installation, testing, and improvements & modifications of production and support equipment. This role also involves leading the electrical maintenance group to maximize production capabilities through minimizing downtime.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical engineering or similar field of study OR equivalent experience
• Ability to teach others both in person and via tele-conference
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• High level of competency in the use/understanding of Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens PLCs and communication protocols; knowledge of visualization (ex. Wonderware, PanelView, etc.)
• Potential for growth opportunities, domestic and international, with the world's leading producer of wood panel products
