As an Automation Technician at Johnson Matthey, you’ll join a world leader in platinum group metals with over 200 years of history. Responsibilities
- Support the operation of automation control systems to maintain safe, reliable, and efficient production.
- Troubleshoot and resolve control system and equipment issues with production and maintenance teams.
- Perform maintenance and adjustments on automated electrical equipment including PLCs, HMIs, drives, and servo systems.
- Update control systems documentation and support program modifications to improve performance.
- Work with external vendors to diagnose and resolve complex automation issues.
- Train colleagues on troubleshooting techniques and safe maintenance practices.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Experience with PLCs, HMI/SCADA systems, and industrial automation in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems, including drives, control panels, and power distribution.
- Ability to analyze faults, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
- Familiarity with Allen-Bradley systems (ControlLogix, RSLogix 5000) and industrial networks is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
