Automation Technician (3rd Shift) – New London Prepared Foods Plant

Summary

Responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining automated systems and equipment. Provides technical support for electrical, electronic, mechanical, fluid power, and manufacturing systems. Assists with installation and modification of integrated systems, supports plant operations, provides guidance to team members in the supervisor’s absence, and performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain automated systems and equipment.
• Provide technical support for electrical, electronic, mechanical, fluid power, and manufacturing systems.
• Assist with installation and modification of integrated systems.
• Support plant operations and act as a guide for team members when the supervisor is absent.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Education: High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience: 4+ years of automation and/or industrial maintenance experience, including repair and troubleshooting of electrical controls, PLCs, and mechanical systems.
• Computer Skills: Standard computer proficiency; strong document organization, technical material usage, research techniques; ability to become proficient in SAP Maintenance.
• Communication Skills: Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with all team members.
• Special Skills: Team‑oriented, strong interpersonal, critical‑thinking, and problem‑solving abilities; effective interaction with all management and operations levels.
• Travel: 1–5 trips per year outside the assigned location.
• Nice‑to‑have: Associate degree in Electronics Technology or related field, skilled‑trades program experience, or military training (not required).
• Position‑Specific: Must work every other weekend, reside in the United States, and be able to attach a resume in Word or PDF format. Sponsorship and relocation assistance are not available.

Pay

$41.92 per hour plus a shift differential; eligible for overtime; paid weekly.

Schedule

3rd shift: Monday – Friday, 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM (flex as needed) with work every other weekend.
