Automation Systems Specialist IV
Position Description
The position of Automation Systems Specialist IV responsibilities include the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and replacement of pneumatic, electric, electronic, and direct digital controls for building HVAC systems. The candidate must have experience with installation, programming, start-up, commissioning, integration, troubleshooting, and repair of one or more direct digital control systems such as Siemens, Apogee, Schneider Electric I/A Series, Tridium Niagara R2, etc. Experience generating web-based graphics, alarms, trends, and other automated reports is required. The candidate should also have experience configuring and integrating various manufacturer graphical user interfaces, network-level controllers, and field-level controllers using BACnet, LonWorks, Modbus, and proprietary protocols.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Design, implement, test, and commission building automation systems (BAS) and energy management systems (EMS).
- Manage contractor specifications, problems, performance, and administration.
- Assist in the acceptance phase of commissioning construction projects.
- Troubleshoot possible issues including, identifying and debugging software, electrical or pneumatic, and installation problems with BAS and EMS.
- Generate reports and recommendations on the performance, condition, operation, and maintenance of building equipment and systems.
- Other duties as assigned by Senior Manager, Physical Plant Maintenance.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field and six (6) years of relevant experience with pneumatics, electrical and digital HVAC control devises, systems and their applications or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid driver's license required and must be insurable by the University's insurance carrier.
Target Compensation
Minimum: $61,147
Midpoint: $76,381
Compensation Will Be Commensurate To Candidate Experience.
