Automation Specialist - Portland

About the role
This is an Outside Specialist position on the Automation Solutions Team, empowered with driving customer business outcomes and solutions with both internal and external customers for automation applications and related services. The role involves working closely with end users, system integrators, OEMs, engineering consulting firms, and electrical contractors to specify and apply products.
We provide extensive training enablement for all products, services, and applications. This is an Outside Technical Sales Specialist position focused on Allen Bradley branded Software & Control (Automation, Industrial Computers, PLCs, HMI, and Software) products and related services.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the product and application leader in the Automation technical segment for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Act as Marketing/Product Manager for Software & Control (Automation, Industrial Computers, PLCs, HMI, and Software) products and related services, serving as the single point of contact for the Rockwell Business Unit.
- Develop collaboration with in-company associates and external vendor/partner employees.
- Present solutions as part of an overall business outcome with proactive behaviors.
- Provide technical and product enablement, product selection, and pre/post-sales support for both internal and external customers.
- Prepare quotations, including development of material for Software & Control (Automation, Industrial Computers, PLCs, HMI, and Software) and related services.
- Work closely with manufacturer sales engineers and engineering consultants to specify Rockwell Automation and North Coast products and services.
- Engage proactively with customers’ buying behavior, becoming an intrinsic part of their future manufacturing designs and delivering an exceptional customer experience.
- Maintain a Sales Funnel to accomplish Sales Goals and meet Sales Growth Objectives for the Software & Control Business (Automation, Industrial Computers, PLCs, HMI, and Software).
Requirements
- Electrical understanding of AC/DC circuits.
- Allen Bradley or equivalent application experience with automation systems such as Programmable Logic Controllers, Human Machine Interface, Industrial Computers, and Software Development Tools.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in a team environment.
- Self-driven with a proactive desire to develop a stronger understanding of all Rockwell Automation/Allen-Bradley products and service offerings.
- College degree preferred or equivalent experience and expertise in this area.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- Professional office environment with frequent computer use.
- Regional travel (customers, vendors, jobsites, North Coast Service Centers, etc.) and occasional out-of-area travel (training).
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
