Automation Mechanical Technician

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies and follow all EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) regulations and guidelines.
  • Install, calibrate, and maintain automated machinery, robotics, and mechatronic systems.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and software-related issues in automation equipment.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure system reliability and longevity.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project and production teams to optimize system performance.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
  • Program and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, and other control systems such as relay logic, control components, photo-eyes, motor starters, limit switches, proximity sensors, solenoids, etc.
  • Understands basic electrical and pneumatic diagrams, familiar with 12 VDC to 480 VAC electrical wiring or circuits and capable of diagnosing 115 VAC control circuitry.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and system modifications.
  • Perform related tasks as required and maintain a clean, well-organized work environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Requirements: Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Have at least an Associate degree or higher, have a certification in Automation Technology, have at least two (2) years of experience in automation system or maintenance, have formal training in or at least one (1) year of work experience implementing Programmable Logic Controls (PLC), have at least one (1) year experience with robotics and motion control (i.e. FANUC, ABB), have at least one (1) year experience in pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical systems, have at least one (1) year experience using hand tools, power tools and precision measuring and testing instruments.
