About the role
The Automation Engineer I/II will support plans to maintain and improve process control systems for existing and/or new equipment and processes, ensuring alignment with local and global standards. They will work with equipment vendors to specify equipment IFA's and requirements, ensuring the equipment can connect to and be used in local manufacturing while serving as a gatekeeper for standards.
Relationships
Reports to Manager, Senior Manager.
Essential Functions
- Schedule & execute plans in coordination with manufacturing schedules
- Operate as automation resource on projects involving process control systems
- Own self-development and initiative to understand the site process control systems
- Adhere to the automation standards and implement necessary changes to the automation-related specifications and maintenance plans
- Support audits & inspections for process control systems
- Utilize the appropriate cLEAN® tools within the main areas of Systematic Problem Solving, process improvement, & project management
- Implement effective change management
- Support Corporate, PS, local IT, & local stakeholder initiatives & projects
- Participate in the development of new SOPs, best practices, and maintenance procedures
- Follow all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of duties
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in an open office environment with the possibility of frequent distraction
- Ability to travel up to 10%
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related field from an accredited university required
- May consider an Associate’s degree in engineering or related field from an accredited university with a minimum of five (5) years of engineering experience in process-based manufacturing, utility, &/or packaging systems required
- May consider a High School Degree/GED with a minimum of seven (7) years of engineering experience in process-based manufacturing, utility, &/or packaging systems required
