About the role

The Automation Engineer Apprenticeship program offers an extensive paid training in the Technical Engineering field. Participants gain valuable skills through a combination of 12 weeks of classroom instruction and on-the-job learning.

Responsibilities

  • Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures.
  • Solve electrical and mechanical automation issues related to all material handling equipment, including PLCs, motors, photo-eyes, industrial communications, and more.
  • Troubleshoot and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment.
  • Cultivate positive working relationships with our Client and Operations Maintenance team members.
  • Perform other job-related duties as needed or assigned.

Requirements

  • Two years of experience working in a maintenance support role.
  • A high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Ability to attend a 12-week in-person paid training at a designated training provider.
  • Proficiency using computers and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
  • Programming experience a plus.
  • Ability to solve problems and carry out general instructions in standard situations such as; routine maintenance, repairs, preventative measures, emergency responses, coordination, and safety compliance.
  • Ability to move up to 50lbs and physical requirements including stooping, standing, walking, and climbing stairs / ladders with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications

  • Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages.
  • Experience using powered or non-powered hand tools.

Skills

  • Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks requiring lifting up to 50 lbs and performing stooping, standing, walking, and climbing stairs/ladders.
