Automation Electrician

Job Responsibilities

• Assemble electrical sub assemblies and panels per drawing and/or work instructions with supervision.
• Bend conduit and solder components.
• Recognize wire and conduit types and their usage and use correct terminology to describe each.
• Understand both AC and DC type circuits.
• Read and understand electrical schematics and ladder diagrams.
• Wire machinery per instructions or engineered drawings.
• Use basic electrical test equipment and understand the readings.
• Perform final hook up of electrical connections.
• Assist other electricians when needed.
• Demonstrate knowledge of electrical formulas and their applications.
• Troubleshoot and correct problems with equipment.
• Demonstrate knowledge of PLC components and their functions.
• Effectively use PC or laptop computer.

Qualifications

• High School/GED required.
• 2 to 4 years of related experience and/or training required.
• Understanding of both AC and DC type circuits required.
• Familiarity with National Electrical Code (NEC) required.
• Equivalent combination of experience and education which clearly indicates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position may substitute on a year for year basis.
• Ability to use small hand-power tools, including reading a tape measure with 1/32-inch increments.
• Able to use Microsoft Office Applications.

Soft Skills

• Have PLC Software Knowledge.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Communicate through speaking and hearing.

Additional Requirements

• Physical Demands: Stand, walk and carry up to 50 lbs., push/pull, climb, walk up stairs and crouch.
• This position requires the individual to be able to communicate through speaking and hearing.
