Job Responsibilities
- Assemble electrical sub assemblies and panels per drawing and/or work instructions with supervision.
- Bend conduit and solder components.
- Recognize wire and conduit types and their usage and use correct terminology to describe each.
- Understand both AC and DC type circuits.
- Read and understand electrical schematics and ladder diagrams.
- Wire machinery per instructions or engineered drawings.
- Use basic electrical test equipment and understand the readings.
- Perform final hook up of electrical connections.
- Assist other electricians when needed.
- Demonstrate knowledge of electrical formulas and their applications.
- Troubleshoot and correct problems with equipment.
- Demonstrate knowledge of PLC components and their functions.
- Effectively use PC or laptop computer.
Qualifications
- High School/GED required.
- 2 to 4 years of related experience and/or training required.
- Understanding of both AC and DC type circuits required.
- Familiarity with National Electrical Code (NEC) required.
- Equivalent combination of experience and education which clearly indicates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position may substitute on a year for year basis.
- Ability to use small hand-power tools, including reading a tape measure with 1/32-inch increments.
- Able to use Microsoft Office Applications.
Soft Skills
- Have PLC Software Knowledge.
- Write simple correspondence.
- Communicate through speaking and hearing.
Additional Requirements
- Physical Demands: Stand, walk and carry up to 50 lbs., push/pull, climb, walk up stairs and crouch.
- This position requires the individual to be able to communicate through speaking and hearing.
