Automation Electrical Technician (TAPS) - 1st Shift
About the role
Join a team of professionals where you will be responsible for supporting the development of new automation and control systems and the maintenance of existing systems. This position is responsible for working alongside fellow Automation team members as they fulfill their responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Work alongside Automation Integrators and Automation Engineers to design, build, and install new automation and control systems.
- Build, install, and maintain electrical systems to NEC standards.
- Fabricate electrical panels and wire control circuits (including but not limited to PLCs, VFDs, breakers, contactors, sensors, and safety controllers/circuits) while understanding best practices.
- Build and install network infrastructure and communication cables for machine connectivity.
- Practice and promote workplace safety especially as it relates to electrical safety (NFPA 70E and OSHA standards).
- Maintain all necessary documentation, drawings, and data. Archive all information when projects are complete.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
Requirements
- A High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Mechanical and electrical aptitude and proficiency.
- 5+ years’ experience installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical equipment and systems to NEC standards.
- Must have knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, & OSHA standards.
- Journeyman or Master Electrician License preferred.
Qualifications
- Good interpersonal, communication, and organization skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Intermediate level in MS Office: Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Skills
- Range of motion sufficient to permit climbing stairs and ladders, working in lifts, walking, standing, stooping and crouching for extended periods while performing duties.
- Able to lift 50 pounds in a safe manner; and request assistance when warranted.
