Automation and PLC Technician

Responsibilities
- Repairs, assembles, installs, and maintains production assembly machine systems
- Documents all maintenance activity and assists with machine downtime root-cause trouble-shooting activity
- Aids in creating both mechanical and software control code standards
- Understands pneumatic and hydraulic devices and how these respective systems/components are energized and controlled
- Understands AC/DC theory and AC/DC electronic circuits with their corresponding schematics
- Understands electronic feed-back sensor devices
- Assembles and terminates (wire) control cabinet and machine components
- Understands electronic safety devices, light curtains, safety relays, emergency stop circuits, and operator input devices
- Creates and issues written trouble-shooting guides, preventative maintenance work instructions, and technical work instructions
- Understands ladder logic and machine control program
Requirements
- High School diploma required
- Enrolled in a vocational degree (2-3 years)
- Knowledge of electrical and mechanical machine applications
- Ability to read Blue Prints and wiring diagram
- Self-directed, yet effective working part of a collaborative team
