About the role
Design, program, and maintain automation and control systems. Lead capital automation projects from concept through implementation. Collaborate with operations, maintenance, quality, and engineering teams. Improve equipment reliability, productivity, and process performance. Provide technical support for troubleshooting and system optimization. Ensure compliance with company safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Program and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, machine vision systems, and related controls.
- Create and maintain electrical schematics using CAD software.
- Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, equipment procurement, and commissioning activities.
- Design and support automation solutions for industrial manufacturing applications.
- Analyze equipment performance and implement process improvements.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for equipment failures.
- Work with vendors and contractors to support automation initiatives.
- Maintain technical documentation and engineering records.
- Comply with all NOV, Quality, and HSE policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline required.
- Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing automation and controls experience.
- Must be located in the Navasota area or within a reasonable commuting distance; this is an onsite position
- Experience programming and troubleshooting PLC, HMI, and machine vision systems.
- Proficiency with CAD software for electrical schematic development.
- Demonstrated project management experience with successful implementation of capital projects.
- Working knowledge of automation, manufacturing processes, quality systems, and continuous improvement practices.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
