Automated Test Engineer SME

About the role

Leidos is seeking an Application Tester for a technical development program of 200+ FTE supporting the Sponsor’s Attribute/Entitlement Services within the IDAM/ICAM space. The Test Engineer will support the test of access control systems for a government customer. The successful candidate will support continuity of our customer’s mission by helping ensure secure, reliable, and uninterrupted availability of IT systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain test plans for web, mobile, and API testing.
• Execute manual tests to identify defects and report them to the development team.
• Collaborate with developers and QA peers to identify test scenarios and automation opportunities.
• Contribute to test planning, case design, and documentation.
• Support the team with User Acceptance Testing to include roles, test scripts, reporting results, and scheduling testing meetings with the UAT users.
• Familiar with agile methodology and continuous feature testing.
• Stay updated with emerging test automation tools and techniques.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; 15+ years of experience (additional experience in lieu of degree).
• Software professional experience in QA with a focus on automation.
• Strong knowledge of automation frameworks/tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Katalon).
• Proficiency in at least one programming/scripting language (Java, Python, JavaScript, or C#).
• Experience in API testing (Postman, REST Assured).
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps).
• Understanding of software testing methodologies, SDLC, and Agile/Scrum.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Automation Testing – Katalon experience.
• Good knowledge of SQL for database testing.
• Experience with version control (Git).
• Knowledge of performance testing tools (JMeter, Locust).
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

Pay

Pay Range: $139,100.00 – $251,450.00. The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
