About the role
As a Master Field Technician at Automated Logic, a Carrier Company, you’ll be the expert voice on-site—leading complex commissioning, solving deep system problems, and shaping how buildings perform. You’ll mentor newer technicians, partner with strong project teams, and deliver precision work that customers remember. Responsibilities
- Lead commissioning and optimization of advanced Building Automation Systems (BAS) for HVAC, lighting, and energy systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical and integration issues across multiple platforms (WebCTRL®, Niagara, Schneider, Honeywell).
- Integrate third-party systems using BACnet, Modbus, or LonWorks.
- Configure controls, trends, alarms, and reports; manage secure network connections.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians.
- Deliver customer training and ensure systems perform as promised.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 5+ years of experience in Building Automation, HVAC, or a technical field.
- Capable of climbing ladders or using lift equipment over 8 feet above grade.
- Capable of lifting items up to 50 lbs.
- Valid and current Driver’s License, insurable by the company’s insurance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, Associate’s degree, Technical/Business School Certificate, or Diploma in HVAC, Controls, or a related field (preferred).
- Proficient with advanced building automation software, such as WebCTRL, and installing building automation controls.
- Ability to navigate and integrate into a variety of building automation systems.
- Expert with TCP/IP networks, including wireless technology.
- Experience managing multiple simultaneous challenges across disciplines.
- Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft 365 applications.

Pay
The annual salary for this position is between $79,000.00 and $158,000.00. Factors affecting pay within this range include skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications. This position may also be eligible for short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
