Automated Equipment Mechanic Specialist

Job Summary

We are seeking an Automated Equipment Mechanic (AEM) to support the Advanced Materials and Chemicals Division in Rochester, NY.

Responsibilities

• Provide multi-discipline capability to repair, maintain, install, and make improvements to chemical processing equipment and machinery (includes pneumatics, hydraulics, controls (PLC’s), and electrical components)
• Fabricate to exact tolerances using lathes, drill presses, grinders, and other shop equipment
• Some experience or expertise in piping, HVAC equipment and controls
• Execute preventive maintenance program
• Calibrate, align and make adjustments with test equipment and production equipment
• Work effectively with minimal supervision
• Excellent safety record – places safety and environment as top priority in all work
• Understand electrical codes for hazardous environments (flammable liquids)
• Good communication skills – daily communications with maintenance planner, technical staff and operations as needed
• Good team player – willing to be flexible, work in other areas and with other trades as needed

Qualifications

• Include HS diploma
• Formal instrumentation, electrical, mechanical, and/or AEM training and demonstrated experience
• Mechanical equipment repair training and/or demonstrated experience: pumps, mechanical seals, agitators, gear boxes, fans (bearings, sheaves), alignment
• Demonstrate effective analytical troubleshooting skills
• Able to read electrical, instrument and machine drawings
• Able to read PLC programs to troubleshoot equipment problems
• Knowledge of Lock Out / Tag Out
• Understanding of electrical codes for hazardous environments (flammable liquids)
• Good communication skills – daily communications with maintenance planner, technical staff and operations as needed
• Good team player – willing to be flexible, work in other areas and with other trades as needed

Requirements

• Minimum Education Level And Experience: 2-year schooling and Journeyman or 7 plus years of demonstrated experience
• Work Schedule: Work schedule will be days 6am to 230PM
