Automated Equipment Mechanic

Job Overview

We are looking for an Automated Equipment Mechanic (AEM) to support the Advanced Materials and Chemicals Division in Rochester, NY.

Responsibilities

• Provide multi-discipline capability to repair, maintain, install, and make improvements to chemical processing equipment and machinery (includes pneumatics, hydraulics, controls (PLC’s), and electrical components)
• Fabricate to exact tolerances using lathes, drill presses, grinders, and other shop equipment
• Some experience or expertise in piping, HVAC equipment and controls
• Execute preventive maintenance program
• Calibrate, alignment and make adjustments with test equipment and production equipment
• Work effectively with minimal supervision
• Place safety and environment as top priority in all work
• Understand electrical codes for hazardous environments (flammable liquids)
• Communicate daily with maintenance planner, technical staff and operations
• Be flexible and work in other areas and with other trades

Qualifications

• Formal instrumentation, electrical, mechanical, and/or AEM training and demonstrated experience
• Mechanical equipment repair training and/or demonstrated experience: pumps, mechanical seals, agitators, gear boxes, fans (bearings, sheaves), alignment
• Demonstrate effective analytical troubleshooting skills
• Able to read electrical, instrument and machine drawings
• Able to read PLC programs to troubleshoot equipment problems
• Excellent safety record
• Understanding of Lock Out / Tag Out
• Good communication skills – daily communications with maintenance planner, technical staff and operations as needed
• Good team player – willing to be flexible, work in other areas and with other trades as needed

Requirements

• Minimum Education Level And Experience: 2-year schooling and/or 5 plus years of demonstrated experience
• Work Schedule: Rotating Shift: 5-week rotations 4 times per year. Two, 12-hour days followed by two 12-hour nights, then 4 days off. Includes additional shift allowance pay

$32.00 - $45.00 Experience Level: 5-10 Years
