Essential Functions
- Affirms vehicle and equipment damage; estimates time and material needed to complete repairs; updates and maintains related work orders; and coordinates with supervisor to order parts and supplies.
- Repairs structural and mechanical damages; straightens, repairs and aligns metal frames, unibody, and body pillars; performs glasswork; fills dents; sands and grinds surfaces; applies primer, paint, and detail features; buffs surfaces; upholstery and updates and maintains related work orders.
- Repairs electrical, suspension, air conditioner, and exhaust systems as needed; performs electrical repairs on damaged and broken wires, bulbs, lights, and sockets; and diagnoses and repairs air conditioner problems.
- Operates or uses various equipment, power tools, hand tools, and supplies to complete work assignments; and operates and maintains hydraulic benders, grinders, and spray painters, and other power or motorized equipment.
Minimum Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED required, with vocational or technical training in automotive body repair or a related field.
- Two years of experience in auto body repair or automotive maintenance.
- Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Specific License or Certification Required
- Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.
