Responsibilities
- Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with both Ford and Dealership policies.
- Understand and utilize manufacturer specific diagnostic tools and equipment for system and subsystem operating performance.
- Utilize experience and skills working with complex Ford systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
- Communicate directly with Service Advisors to keep customers informed about progress and additional service needs.
- Organize needed vehicle services and repairs gathered from a standard inspection process.
- Provide estimated time needed for diagnostics and repairs to maintain production schedule as a whole.
- Execute all repairs to manufacturer specifications and documentation requirements.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of Service Technician experience preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- ASE Certification suggested and considered for Ford FAST training equivalency.
- Ford Certifications a plus and required to be working towards if hired.
- Other OE brand certifications considered for conversion through the FAST program, high percentage of core skills DO transfer between brands minimizing Ford certification process.
- Previous experience at a Ford dealership is preferred.
- Other OE brand dealership experience considered.
- B level qualifications or greater desired. Including Diagnostic principles, Electrical systems, and all other categories of the vehicle.
