Auto Mechanic

Responsibilities

• Perform assigned work as outlined on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy
• Diagnose the cause of malfunctions and perform repairs, if authorized by the Manager and the customer
• Ensure availability of parts
• Saving and tagging parts if under warranty or if requested by the Manager (for customers)
• Examine the vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is required
• Notify the Manager if additional work is required or if repairs/work cannot be completed within, the time promised
• Document work performed as directed by the Manager
• Road test vehicles to ensure quality of repair and ensure vehicles remain clean
• Maintain the shop area by keeping it neat, and clean and remain accountable for all tools used
• Understand and comply with federal, state, and local regulations, such as safety requirements, hazardous waste disposal, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and other policies, procedures, and programs as required
• Wear appropriate PPE, including safety glasses. Maintain safety awareness at all times
• The mechanic will be required to work closely with others or independently

Requirements

• Must have a valid driver's license
• Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience as an auto mechanic
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to work flexible hours, including rotating Saturdays

Qualifications

• Must be ASE certified
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent

Schedule

Monday thru Friday 7am-5pm and Rotating Saturdays 7am-12pm
