About the role
ADESA, a Carvana owned company, operates over 50 locations across the US. Our Auto Auctions provide vehicle services like repair and reconditioning, auction remarketing, and serve as market hub distribution centers. Our inventory includes hundreds of thousands of vehicles from various sources. We're looking for mechanics who want to join our team!
Responsibilities
- A/C & Heater - Operate system, check power to compressor, inspect condenser, belt tension.
- Brakes - Inspect brakes, measure lining, drums, rotors, cams, road test, check fluid level, adjust service and park brakes.
- Electrical Charging Systems - Clean connections, check condition of belts, test batteries, check alternator mounting and pulley, replace and adjust belts.
- Clutch - Lubricate bearing, linkage, shafts, and cables, identify proper clutch operation.
- Cooling Systems - Check and adjust coolant levels, inspect system for leaks, make minor repairs, pressure test, flush and refill systems.
- Starting/Cranking System - Inspect/ test batteries, cables and motor, clean battery cables, connections and starter, charge and replace batteries, repair/replace defective cables, read wiring schematics.
- Lighting System and Electrical Accessories - Repair minor wiring problems, replace bulbs, lenses and simple light assemblies, adjust/replace sealed beams, install/replace accessories.
- Drive Axles - Inspect housings for leaks, change oil and filter, clean breathers.
- Driveline - Lubricate drive line, inspect components for wear or damage.
- Gas Engines - Check and adjust oil levels, identify unusual noises, and oil leaks.
- Fuel Systems - Replace and prime fuel filter, check fuel system components.
- Preventive Maintenance - Proper lube techniques, minimal tire inspection, brake check/applied stroke, battery check, under vehicle check/lose components, initial fault code identification.
- Tire and Wheel Maintenance - Perform air pressure checks, check tread depth, identify tires that need to be changed or repaired, perform tire checks, replace tire and wheel assemblies, mount/dismount and rotate tires.
- Track and record vehicle information following department processes.
- Aid in general shop duties such as cleaning, driving, organizing vehicle parking and staging.
- Provide prompt and courteous service to internal and external customers.
- Maintain a professional appearance and neat work environment.
- Promote teamwork at all times.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- 2 to 3 years of experience in automotive repair field.
- 2 ASE Certifications preferred.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Interpersonal skills and willingness to work in a team environment.
