Auto Glass Technician (Laurel)
Job Summary
Auto Glass Technicians for Glass America replace broken or pitted windshields and window glass in motor vehicles. The position offers full-time employment with benefits including 80 hours of paid time off annually, 80 hours of paid parental leave, 6 paid holidays annually, medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan with company match, employer-paid short-term disability and life insurance, and additional voluntary life insurance. The position also offers free prescription or non-prescription safety glasses each year and a voluntary daily pay option.
Principle Functions and Responsibilities
- Installs auto glass and other auto glass products in-shop or on a mobile basis.
- Utilizes the proper tools and techniques to ensure efficient, timely, and quality installation service for Glass America customers.
- Completes and turns in required paperwork to the appropriate person or location.
- Maintains a safe and acceptable driving record in accordance with company policy.
- May perform auto glass repairs as needed.
- Loads glass in the truck as needed.
- Immediately follows up with the Glass Manager on any problems that arise in the installation of the glass.
- Maintains high levels of quality control.
- Provides excellence in customer service.
- Maintains a safe and acceptable driving record in accordance with company policy.
- Safeguards all needed equipment to ensure it is operating properly.
- Immediately reports any accident or incident to the Glass Manager.
- Complies with all Company policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook.
- Maintains a good rapport with all supervisors and co-workers.
Education/Qualification/Experience
- A High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
- At least 4-6 years of related work experience is required.
Skills/Abilities
- A valid driver's license is required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time in the installation of glass.
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must be able to use hands efficiently in handling glass.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must possess mechanical aptitude and the skill to operate hand and power tools and equipment.
Supervisory Responsibilities
The position requires no supervision of staff.

Compensation Details
The hourly pay rate is $27-$32 per hour or a commission plan. You will receive the higher of the two amounts.
