Auto Glass Installation Technician Trainee

About the role

The Auto Glass Technician plays a crucial role at Safelite, focusing on vehicle glass repair and replacement services. They also handle recalibrations and provide exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Provide all vehicle glass repair and replacement services at Safelite Shops and Mobile Glass Shops.
• Clean customer vehicles after every job.
• Recalibrate automotive safety systems, including troubleshooting and diagnostic testing.
• Operate Safelite’s tools and technologies such as True Seal®, Ezi-Wire™, Glass Table System (GTS), chemicals, work order and customer administration systems, and MRM technology.
• Safely operate company and customer vehicles throughout the workday.
• Communicate with all scheduled customers in-person, via text, and on the phone; promote and sell Safelite promotional items and services.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license.
• Required Safelite SafeTech™ certification.

Skills and Abilities

• Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds.
• Standing for extended periods, working in tight spaces, bending, twisting.
• Using various hand and power tools safely.
• Operating a motor vehicle safely according to all laws.
• Professionalism and excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to work outside in various weather conditions and temperatures.
• Proficiency in using computerized diagnostic tools.
• Effective communication skills (oral and written).
• Professional appearance and adherence to company uniform and PPE policies.
• Problem-solving and ability to troubleshoot issues independently and collaboratively.
• Willingness to maintain stable performance under pressure.
