Auto General Service Technician

Entry-level role for a mechanically inclined individual to perform basic automotive services while delivering excellent customer service. Maintain clean and safe work areas and assist with selling recommended or required services.

Responsibilities

• Learn to diagnose and repair basic automotive systems including brakes, alignments, suspensions, cooling, and electrical
• Continuously learn new technical information and techniques through formal training sessions
• Change engine oil and filters
• Install and perform tire maintenance (mounting, balancing, repairs)
• Install batteries and check starting/charging systems
• Install headlights and other small bulbs
• Repair flat tires
• Install wiper blades
• Stock and unload tires
• Assist fellow technicians/mechanics with technical activities
• Keep management informed of mechanical repair problems as they occur
• Maintain a clean, organized, and neat shop
• Adhere to all company policy, procedure, safety, and environmental rules

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license
• Passion for a career as an automotive Technician
• Eagerness to learn and competitive drive to succeed
• At least 18 years of age
• High School Diploma or GED
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends as needed
• Successful completion of pre-employment background check

Physical Demands

• Extensive standing, walking, pushing, and reaching
• Full range of motion for reaching, bending, and stooping
• Repetitive movement of hands, arms, and legs
• Frequent lifting of heavy equipment (over 100 pounds)
• May drive a vehicle if needed
• May work outside and be exposed to weather, chemicals, odors, dirt, and dust
• Specific vision abilities: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
• Moderate noise level in the work environment

Pay

$12.10 to $19.80 per hour based on experience
