Auto General Service Technician

Entry-level role for a mechanically inclined individual who can perform basic automotive services—mounting and balancing tires, tire repairs, oil changes, vehicle inspections—and maintain clean, safe work areas. May advise and sell customers on recommended or required services.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair basic automotive systems (brakes, alignments, suspensions, cooling, electrical).
• Participate in formal training to stay current with automotive technology.
• Change engine oil and filters.
• Install and service tires, batteries, starting/charging systems, headlights, and wiper blades.
• Repair flat tires and stock/unload tires.
• Assist other technicians with technical tasks.
• Report mechanical issues to management promptly.
• Maintain an organized, clean shop in compliance with safety and environmental rules.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license.
• Passion for an automotive technician career and eagerness to learn.
• Competitive drive to succeed.
• At least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED.
• Flexible availability including days, nights, holidays, and weekends.
• Successful pre-employment background check.

Physical Demands

• Extensive standing, walking, pushing, and reaching.
• Full range of motion for bending, stooping, and reaching.
• Repetitive hand, arm, and leg movements.
• Frequent lifting of equipment over 100 pounds.
• Possible vehicle driving.
• Exposure to outdoor weather, chemicals, odors, dirt, dust, and moderate noise.
• Required vision abilities: close, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Pay

$11.00 to $18.00 per hour based on experience.
