Job Summary
As an Auto Electrician specializing in Mining Fleet Maintenance at Minera Panama S.A., you will be responsible for the electrical maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of a diverse range of heavy mining equipment, ensuring optimal operational efficiency and safety within our large-scale mining operations.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and preventative electrical maintenance on heavy mining equipment, including excavators, haul trucks, drills, and ancillary vehicles.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical faults and malfunctions using diagnostic tools and technical manuals.
- Repair, replace, and overhaul electrical components, wiring, and systems, adhering to manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
- Conduct thorough quality control checks on all electrical repairs and installations to ensure reliability and performance.
- Adhere strictly to all company and industry safety procedures and protocols, identifying and mitigating electrical hazards.
- Provide training and mentorship to junior technicians on electrical systems and best practices.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to schedule and prioritize repairs, minimizing equipment downtime.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, parts used, and diagnostic findings.
- Work independently to complete tasks and manage workload effectively in a demanding environment.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment reliability and maintenance processes.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Auto Electrician, specifically with heavy mining or industrial equipment.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, schematics, and diagnostic procedures for large machinery.
- Proficiency in Equipment Maintenance principles and practices.
- Familiarity with Mining Operations and the specific electrical demands of mining environments.
- Knowledge of Geotechnical Analysis implications for equipment stability and safety is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to implement and enforce Safety Procedures.
- Experience in Quality Control (QC) for electrical repairs and installations.
- Capacity for Training and Development of team members.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- A formal qualification in Auto Electrics, Heavy Vehicle Electrics, or a related field is highly desirable.
- Basic understanding of Mining Engineering principles.
- Experience in People Management within a team setting is an advantage.
