Auto Body Technician (Flat Rate)

About the role

The Auto Body Technician’s primary responsibility is providing an exceptional customer experience through meticulous assessment and quality repair of each vehicle to restore it to pre-accident condition. You will disassemble, repair, and reassemble vehicles while upholding the company’s standards for speed, quality, and customer excellence. As a Brand Ambassador, you’ll collaborate with team members to meet repair facility KPIs.

Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent execution of the WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
• Plan necessary repair work and prepare cost estimates for customers.
• Use tools such as cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers to repair vehicle sections.
• Hammer out dents, dimples, and minor body damage; mix and apply filler resins when other methods are not feasible.
• Realign car chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
• Remove damaged sections of vehicles and replace them with new or aftermarket parts.
• Replace or repair glass, windshields, and interior parts as needed.
• Weld and attach or fit parts into place.
• Prepare and repaint vehicles with factory-specified paint or agreed-upon equivalent.
• Attempt to complete work orders within labor time guidelines.
• Inspect vehicles after repair to ensure all work has been executed correctly.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Successful completion of a technical school program OR a 3-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer.
• Ability to read job orders and work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to collaborate with other repairers in an auto body shop.
• Thorough understanding of methods and procedures to repair vehicle bodies.
• Thorough understanding of how to use tools required for the trade.

Other Requirements

• Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present.
• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
• Must be able to visually inspect vehicle damage in various weather conditions.
• Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.

Pay

$75,000+ annually depending on flagged hours per week.
