Auto Body Technician
About the role
The Auto Body Technician at Reynold's Body Shop is responsible for repairing damaged vehicle body parts in accordance with company specifications, processes, and time standards. Essential functions include examining and evaluating damaged vehicles, communicating with management and team members about repair status, maintaining tools and equipment, operating tools safely, ensuring a clean and safe work area, wearing appropriate safety gear, assisting other personnel, complying with relevant regulations, and possessing specific skills and certifications.
Responsibilities
- Examines and evaluates damaged vehicles to plan efficient repairs.
- Communicates with management and team members regarding vehicle repair status.
- Notifies management of any issues or changes in promised completion/delivery time.
- Maintains tools and equipment in good working order.
- Operates all tools and equipment safely.
- Ensures work area is organized, clean, and free of safety hazards.
- Maintains and wears all required safety and health personal protective equipment.
- Assists other personnel in the repair and prepping of vehicles.
- Understands and complies with relevant federal, state, and local regulations.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience working in the collision repair arena.
- Extensive knowledge of vehicle structure to remove and replace damaged components.
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally over 70 pounds.
- Agility, equilibrium, and coordination necessary for various tasks.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment.
- Valid Driver’s License (preferred).
- I-CAR and ASC Certification (preferred).
Qualifications
Strong working knowledge of processes, techniques, and materials used in repairing automotive equipment, solid physical strength, and demonstrated ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
