Responsibilities

  • Familiar with Chief Frame machine
  • Able to use Chief Lazer Measuring machine
  • Able to weld aluminum and steal body parts
  • Dismantle vehicle within the suggested time constraints in a safe manner
  • Absorb vehicle collision damages, body, frame, and mechanical repairs
  • Remove, label, and tag parts to be placed into storage for later repairs
  • Create inventory and list repairs parts
  • Cleans and inspects vehicles for any flaws or imperfections prior to painting
  • Aid in preparing and filling depressions with body-filler and ensure a quality repair
  • Carefully and accurately mask any areas that are not meant to be painted
  • Use hammers/dollies to fix minor metalwork
  • File, grind, and sand repaired surfaces using power tools and hand tools
  • Replace bolts on panels and align properly
  • Partner and provide clear communication with other team members and departments involved in the vehicle reconditioning process
  • Track and handle hazardous waste according to regulations and company policy
  • Follow proper operating rules, procedures, and standardized workflow
  • Wear and use required safety equipment (respirator, eye, and skin protectors)
  • Maintain a clean and productive work environment by keeping tools and supplies organized
  • May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration
  • Must be willing to wear Personal Protective Equipment as required by established Company Safety Standards
  • Normal work hours are Monday-Friday 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM
  • May be required to cover vacation time at other locations and some extended weekend hours

Qualifications

  • 6 - 10 years of hands-on experience
  • Must complete county required Live Scan
  • Valid driver License
  • Willing to obtain ASE body repair / painter certification
  • Experienced in repairing, prepping and fixing different parts and materials including steel, fiberglass, carbon fiber, and composites
  • Perform quality assurance to precise paint manufacturer and company standards
  • Inspire a creative mindset, going above and beyond when developing paint and finishes
  • Strong ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment to multiple deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively and efficiently
  • Excellent time management with an ability to balance multiple projects and timelines while meeting deadlines
  • Must be able to lift, lower, carry, push or move objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Variety of tasks may require intermittent standing or prolonged sitting, and the ability to walk, reach, kneel, crouch and handle work related supplies and tools
