Role and Team

This role reports to the Body Shop or designated Manager. The Refinish Technician I performs preparation work on damaged vehicles prior to the painting process and supports the body shop team in meeting daily production goals.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare vehicles for the paint process by taping, masking, cleaning, and removing parts efficiently and accurately to meet customer expectations.
  • Maintain a constant and smooth flow of prepped vehicles for the paint process.
  • Assist with general shop duties such as cleaning, driving, organizing vehicle parking, and staging.
  • Communicate professionally with team members and customers, setting a positive example in attitude and performance.
  • Resolve internal and external customer inquiries in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner; escalate complaints or incidents to management.
  • Maintain productivity levels as set by management.
  • Maintain equipment and tools properly; report any needed maintenance or breakdowns to the manager.
  • Follow and maintain all safety standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Previous experience in a body shop preferred.
  • One year of automotive or auction experience preferred.
  • Must be 18 years of age with a valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets company requirements.
  • May be required to provide sufficient tools to perform the job.

Pay

$19-$20 hourly.

Other Requirements

Physical activity requirements for this position range from medium to heavy physical work, including constant reaching, standing, walking, grasping, feeling, hearing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, lifting, and repetitive motion. Potential for running, jumping, or rapid movement in emergency situations. Visual acuity requirements include color, depth perception, and field of vision comparable to clerical, administrative, or machine operator roles.

This position is subject to both inside and outside environmental working conditions, including temperature changes, weather conditions, and slightly elevated ambient noise levels. Exposure to fumes, odors, and dust associated with body shop and paint operations may occur.

Hiring is contingent on passing a complete background check. This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
